Women, education, and what’s for dinner tonight?

This world has undoubtedly changed, and humans have evolved a lot. After the internet and smartphones, our life got turbocharged. I need help to keep up with the changes. Life has always been challenging for the human race, especially women. Our life would be easier with all the advancements in technology and innovation. However, it is equally challenging, if not more difficult. I am fortunate enough to travel to a few places around the world, wherever I can see all these women juggling through life. They have to juggle their education, jobs, and home. The same is true for me and all of my friends and families.

Universally, women, irrespective of their ages, put lots of pressure on themselves. I can understand that feeling because I felt the same way when I was younger than I am today. Modern society wants us to believe that we must simultaneously achieve everything. But we pause and think through it. It is unnatural and impossible to do so. It is like being physically present in two different places simultaneously. I wanted to be a top-class student, earn money, be fit and healthy, do all household work and be perfect at everything, and most important of all, try to please everyone. And self-doubting myself all the time. I was blessed to be born and raised when social media did not exist. I could not imagine the pressure young people have to look perfect in every picture on social media. In retrospect, when I think about those things, I feel how unwise and irrational I was. All those issues still exist. However, I have learned to navigate through those to some extent but still a work in progress. I was listening to an interview with former First Lady Michelle Obama, and she said that we can have everything we want in our life but not at the same time. That statement resonated with me very deeply. Unfortunately, this epiphany hits only when you are a little older and have some experience in life.

Well, that’s the thought for the day. And the biggest question remains unanswered in my mind, What’s for dinner tonight?
